What Is 'Ragebomb Hypothesis'?

Back in 2005 Stefan Duscio and I began work on the first draft of what would become Ragebomb Hypothesis. Now, more than six long years later, the script is finally complete (and so epic* that it had to be broken up into a crowd favourite, the Two-Parter). Here is the first page of Part 1...

*The word "epic" is used here to describe the length of the episode rather than any heroic or extraordinary situations within the story itself. The writers and artist accept no responsibility for any feelings of dissatisfaction the reader may experience upon reading The Waiting Drove.

Percolation, Not Procrastination.

Ragebomb Hypothesis is on it's way, I swear. But to tide you over till then, I've gone back and prettied up both Saturday Night and The Artist's Statement, ... again. They can be found by clicking the Shorts tab.

Eddy Bares Soul To Minor Consequence.

The 14th page of Christians And Persecutors finds our our heroes at their lowest ebb. With their 8 year high school reunion yet to begin, a long night of endless waiting and frustrated isolation culminates in an orgy of shocking violence and heartbreaking confessions*.

*Actual comic might not contain orgies, shocking violence, or heartbreaking confessions.

The Boys Get Nasty Like A Janet Jackson Song.

Callous generalisations abound in this, the dramatic 13th page of Christians and Persecutors. Those of you with a fear of confrontations may wish to avert your gaze.

Traumatic 'Deliverance' Scene Referenced For Humourless Gag Controversy.

Page 12 of Christians And Persecutors is now up and ready for you to peruse at your leisure. In this painstakingly rendered instalment Jon continues reminiscing about how he met his current girlfriend Elisha, and the origin of Raj's faith is revealed. (Any similarities to The Empire Strikes Back are purely coincidental.)

Most Popular Web Search Of All Time.

It's a difficult thing to stand out from a crowd of over 300 million other websites vying for your attention. According to The Waiting Drove's web stats (obsessively checked and rechecked by yours truly), the most common route through which people outside of Facebook and Twitter find it is via ... a Cold Chisel song from 1984 - specifically, Satuday Night. It seems there are quite a few people out there wondering what song has the lyrics do de doo de doo do do de do doo. Instead of picking the obvious links to YouTube they're ending up here, because, as I'm sure you already know, I love a bit of musical irony and titled one of my Short webcomics something similar.

And the most interesting (and disturbing) combination of words typed into a search engine that sent one misguided deviant to this webcomic? anime+sex+dog

Where In The World Is Jon Yoon-Bo?

Six pages ago Jon disappeared from a booth at J-Bot, with no clues to his whereabouts (except for a detailed description of his whereabouts from the bartender). Now in this, the 15th and second to last page of Love Songs And Dedications, Jon returns...

If you only read one page of The Waiting Drove this year, then this may well be the page for you.

'Love Songs And Dedications' - Fourteen Down, Two To Go.

After seven long years, the end is in sight for Love Songs And Dedications. With only two more pages left to draw, now is as good a time as any to go back and read the entire episode from the beginning. Those of you with a keen eye for detail may even notice that the first seven pages have been redrawn (for consistency's sake). If you've got a large monitor and can handle Blogger's new lightbox script that shrinks images to fit the screen, feel free to go ahead and read the latest page, Page 14. It's ... right ... here.

Blogger Chaos.

The Blogger community is in an uproar today as Blogger rolls out it's new "improved" image viewing code. Those of us already using a Lightbox code awoke to find our blogs acting particularly screwy, with images opening in two separate viewers, and worse, at less than 100% resolution. This is especially problematic if, say, you post a webcomic with 6.5pt text and expect people to still be able to read your finely crafted prose.

Until this bug is fixed it is in both mine and your best interest to ... avoid reading this comic. If things don't improve soon I will move to a new site, or at the very least, repost each page at its original size. I'll keep you posted.

'Love Songs And Dedications' - The Stuff That Happened Already...

It's been awhile since we've seen any action on the Love Songs And Dedications front, but all that's about to change. New content is being producing daily by our Waiting Drove Art Bots, so here's a quick refresher to make sure you're "prepped and primed" before the next page drops.

Actually, it's not so much a refresher as it is cover art. But you get the gist.

'I Worked At Summer Camp' - The Shocking Conclusion.

On the gravitas scale of 1 to 10 this, the "shocking conclusion" to I Worked At Summer Camp, could easily register around the 3 or 4 mark. Buckle yourself in for the final two pages, or hit the tab at the top of the page to read the entire episode.

Images And Words Coalesce To Form Coherant Narrative.

Tired of waiting for conclusions to ongoing episodes that never seem to materialise? Unfortunately there's not much I can do about it now, but here's another unfinished episode to keep you distracted while I continue to procrastinate.

Four pages of  I Worked At Summer Camp are already posted, with two more to come. You'll find them by hitting the tab at the top of the page. Or by clicking the word "tab" in the previous sentence. Or any word in this sentence.

New Buttons Make Following Webcomic Super Easy!

Actual new artwork has been a long time coming but at least now, with the addition of TWO NEW BUTTONS you can follow the lacklustre pace of The Waiting Drove without a Blogger account. 'Christians And Persecutors' - The Story So Far...

Our gang roll up to their 8 Year High School Reunion only to find they're the first ones to arrive, and apparently an hour and a half early. The sky darkens as they discuss their high school experience. Raji proceeds to tell the others why he believes fourteen year old Class Captain Belinda Brown is, indeed, the Antichrist.

Facts revealed to this point -

1. Jon likes Pez. He also enjoys a good pasta primavera.
2. Raji currently believes in a higher power who, for argument's sake, we'll call 'God'.
3. Eddy appears to have some unresolved issues towards a former classmate named Jeffrey, which may or may not have something to do with Jeffrey's perm.
4. Robb is not so great with numbers. But he will accept glitter gel when offered.

Now that you're all caught up, you can go right ahead and read this, the latest page of Christians and Persecutors. Or you could hit the tab at the top of the page and read it all from the beginning. It's up to you. No pressure...
